More Than Consulting The project illustrated below goes beyond consulting. It actually involves doing, but it gives you an idea of what kind of consulting I do. These two photos show part of an 88 acre gravel mine near Flagstaff, Arizona. Those are the San Francisco Peaks in the background. Working with EcoResults!, a company I helped found, I contracted to restore this area to native grasses in 1999 with the help of my partner, Norm Lowe. |

| And now, the restoration... |

That's Norm seeding on the left, and what are those on the right?! Cows?! Somebody let cows in to overgraze this area even before anything was growing on it? Actually, those intrepid four-leggeds are tools of restoration. They work cheap. They're more effective than fossil fuel-using machines. And, they appreciate in value as they work. Their job is to incorporate the seeds, the organic material (hay) they don't eat, and their own organic fertilizer into the soil as they work. As I said, they're more effective than machines—the area they are restoring includes several acres that were restored by mechanical means that was deemed a failure. Below, you see the results. |
